Getting to Pittsburgh
Pittsburgh is less than a 90-minute flight from nearly half of North America's population and less than six hours by car or train from 10 states, Washington, D.C., and Canada.
Pittsburgh International Airport welcomed more than 9.6 million passengers in 2018. The world-class facility became the first U.S. airport honored by Air Transport World magazine as its Airport of the Year in 2017 and ranked among Yahoo's Top 10 Domestic Airports. Its Airmall boasts street-level pricing and includes local favorites like Penn Brewery and Primanti Brothers.
Getting Around Pittsburgh
Taxis can be hailed at most Downtown hotels or by using the zTrip app. Uber and Lyft are easy to use and are available throughout the city and to and from the airport.
In the city, transportation is quick and easily accessible on the "T," a 26.2-mile light-rail system that becomes a subway in Downtown, where it has a free-fare zone that includes the North Shore. Pittsburgh also offers an extensive bus transportation system with many routes connecting Downtown to attractions and restaurants in surrounding neighborhoods.
Healthy Ride bikes are available to rent at more than 100 stations throughout the city and neighborhoods. The bike share program provides ease of use and affordability for visitors wanting to explore on two wheels.
Pittsburgh's compact Downtown, 24 miles of riverfront trails and pedestrian-friendly bridges make walking convenient and enjoyable.
